ABOUT
Lewis used Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s relationship–perfect love living beside inward, personal turmoil–to create the movement and arc for What’s Done Is Done. The piece was then set in a space where only the vertical was possible. The end result was a love story on a staircase; an affair that could only move in two directions; a snapshot of the ups and downs of relationships; a portal into the joy and suffering caused by living in confinement with a loved one. What’s Done Is Done was Lewis’ response to making dance during the pandemic–rehearse outside, perform outside, connect outside.
