ABOUT
From 2005 to 2007, Lewis made three dance pieces inspired by Bach’s Fugue No. 4 in C# Minor and Fugue No. 6 in D minor from the Well-Tempered Clavier. These pieces were performed in silence, with the intention that the viewer would get a sense of the music by watching the dance. The score was translated to the body, invoking Bach’s themes, dynamic ranges, rhythm, and structure.
